Establishes the specifications and test methods that promote efficient energy use in light-emitting diode (LED) luminaires intended for street and public outdoor lighting. These luminaires are powered by utility electricity, as well as other energy sources, such as batteries, accumulators, and self-generated sources, in alternating current and/or direct current, with a nominal voltage of up to 480 V in alternating current and up to 100 V in direct current.

LED luminaires are classified as follows::

According to its application
o Roads
o Pole tops
o Walls
o Tunnels or overpasses

According to its total nominal luminous flux

According to the type of supply voltage
o Alternating Current
o Direct Current

According to its nominal lifespan
