IFT-012-2019
Technical specifications for compliance with the maximum limits for non-ionizing radio frequency emissions of telecommunications products, equipment, devices, or apparatus that may be connected to a telecommunications network and/or use the radio spectrum. Specific Absorption Rate (SAR).
The intended benefits of issuing the Technical Provision are primarily to ensure that telecommunications products, equipment, devices, or apparatus that may be connected to a telecommunications network and/or use the radio spectrum:
a) are used near the head, particularly near the ear, and
b) are used at a distance of less than or equal to 200 mm from the human body,
:
Comply with the basic exposure limits for non-ionizing radioelectric emissions in the frequency range of 300 MHz to 6 GHz and 30 MHz to 6 GHz, respectively.
Applies to products that operate at a distance of less than or equal to 20 cm from the human body. Examples include: mobile phones, wireless headphones, tablets, smartwatches, digital media devices, laptops, optical mice, keyboards, mobile broadband, among others.
